The Pitchpipers started in Havant, Hampshire in 1976 with a few singers in the front room of our founder member, Marilyn Penketh. It grew into one of the most well established and respected LABBS choruses in the country.
Over the years, we have travelled far and wide to appear on shows in the UK, Germany and Holland. Our love of music brings us together to create this unique style of harmonious singing and the friendly, fun atmosphere makes sure that anyone coming along enjoys being part of The Pitchpipers
2020 was a difficult year for us; we were unable to meet and sing together in person during the Covid-19 lockdown, and then Marilyn died after a long battle with cancer. We are enormously grateful to her daughter Karen who helped steer the chorus through the next couple of years, drawing on her own experience as a multi-medal wining singer and LABBS judge.
With her support, and considerable effort on the part of the Music Team, rehearsals were restablished and the chorus returned as strong as ever.
Karen says "Singing is joy, and I love it." It's true, singing is joy, and we thank Karen for helping The Pitchpipers keep the joy coming.
